About us

Illuminista Coffee Roaster's is a family owned and operated small batch artisanal coffee roasting company located on Eight Point Lake, Michigan.  

Our coffee journey started in 2002 when Carl bought a small "home roaster" and realized that coffee could be so much more than the burnt flaverless drink he downed in the morning.  We discovered that with different coffee's and different roast techniques the flavors and aromas that were attainable in coffee were almost endless.  

Soon after, the idea for Illuminista Coffee Roasters was born, with the simple goal of delivering world class coffee to the masses at the peak of freshness.  

After a few years of planning and some formal training from the Specialty Coffee Association of America and the Roasters Guild, Illuminista Coffee Roasters became a reality in 2015.

We now use some of the best roasting equipment in the industry instead of our little home roaster that started it all, but we like to think that our approach to roasting has more or less stayed the same.  We tirelessly pursue the perfect cup through trial and error and extreme attention to detail.  We hope you enjoy the end results as much as we do!
